While the national elections are exciting, and monopolize most water cooler conversations and chain emails, I find the real excitement of politics when the issues are close to home. Yes, even elections are going local.
So, I am doing something fun this week. I am reviewing a movie that I have never seen before, ‘Babette’s Feast,’ and also talking about my recent foray into cooking at home — let’s call that ‘Chad’s Feast.’
The ‘When in AZ’ shows kicked off with a bang this past weekend, supporting both the arts and local charities.

Ok, I’m pretty much cheese obsessed. I love it. Can’t get enough of it. Doesn’t mean I’m an expert though. With the limited resources in AZ, haven’t gotten the education I need. So I’d been looking very forward to the opening of Petit Fromage.
It was suggested that this night of adventure needed to kick off right. Thus, the lavish, new St. Francis was selected for its holy name, apparently.
Phoenix residents might consider themselves lucky to live along the 131 miles of canals, some of the only waterfront property in the Valley. That excitement is tempered a bit when one actually looks at some stretches of the canals.
A 12-lane bowling alley is coming to Downtown Phoenix in 2010 in what would seem to be an unlikely spot.
