The vintage warehouses in the Downtown Phoenix Warehouse District aka SoDo will be springing into action this week, hosting NBA All Star parties, fashion shows, probably a little comedy thrown in and if you are in need of some casual, vintage clothing you will be able to pick that up as well.
The Icehouse at 429 W Jackson St will be hosting performances Thursday thru Sunday with Talib Kweli, Jean Grae, DJ’s DJ Clue and DJ Aktive. NBA player hosts will include Carmelo Anthony, Allen Iverson and Ben Gordon plus more.
The Sporting House at 101 E Buchanan St, will be host to Arizona Cardinal stars, Darnell Dockett and Antonio Smith helping kick off the parties at this former Micro-Brewery. Other stuff happening at the Sporting House will include Friday Night Jams with Chris Brown, a Saturday Fashion Show and Silent Auction and a Saturday night party with a yet to be announced Celebrity guest.
If you need a change of clothes while you’re here in Phoenix for the All Star Game, check out R & R Surplus, which will open for business on Saturday the 14th in a 1928 Warehouse Building at 525 S. Central on the corner of Central & Lincoln. The new business is being launched by Steve and Andi Rosenstein, founders of the Fitigues clothing line.
