With last week’s abrupt closing of Palatte, I’ve heard several friends complain about the lack of breakfast options in Central Phoenix. But I guess the restaurant gods were listening, because I just found out about a brand-new spot that’s in the works: Two Hippies Breakfast Joint.
Postino, the popular neighborhood winecafé, will open its newest location on Monday, March 30 in the 1960’s building that housed Katz’s Deli for just shy of 30 years on Central Avenue. Similar to its first location, Postino Central will offer a casual yet upscale café filled with great food, inspired wines, friendly faces and good times. Perfect for a date night, girls’ night out, lunch or dinner with a friend or just chilling out, Postino Central is sure to become an uptown favorite.

ImprovAZ is having fun with this. First the NoPantsAZ Light Rail stunt and now a Sky Harbor arrival to remember.
The Encanto-Palmcroft neighborhood, with all of it’s old world charm and palm-tree lined streets, will be putting on their bi-annual Home Tour & Street Festival on Sunday, March 29th from 10 AM to 4 PM. The majority of the estate-like homes in this neighborhood were built in the 1920’s and 30’s, including Spanish Colonial homes and Tudor Revivals alhtough there are also a few classic Red Brick Ranch homes from the 50’s. Past neighbors of note in the Encanto-Palmcroft neighborhood have included US Supreme Court Justice, William Renquist, former Phoenix Suns star Alvan Adams, former Phoenix Mayor John Driggs and many more.
There’s really no cooler place for an after party than the Clarendon. The roof top, while it certainly has its limits (literally, per fire code), is an excellent place to grab a drink while enjoying the cool night air. Yesterday we broke ground for a new community garden. . This garden has been in its planning and approval stages for over 8 months so it was a quite a celebratory day! The Garden is located on the South Side of the Guru Nanak Dwara Ashram also home of Yoga Phoenix (a non-profit Kundalini Yoga Center) at the corner of 9th St and Oak in the Coronado Historic Neighborhood in Central Phoenix, AZ. We got approval about 2 weeks ago and yesterday got to gleefully get our hands all dirty with mama earth.
Rickie Gonzales and VMarie Fashion unveiled the 2010 line this past Saturday to around 200 local fashion aficionados. The Sporting House, located just south of US Airways Arena, hosted the event.
