Art Detour, Kid Detour This Weekend

Downtown Phoenix during First Fridays can be a little overwhelming, with hordes of people trying to get their monthly art fix in the span of four hours. So for people who want to enjoy their art and culture in a slightly more relaxed setting, there is Art Detour. The once-a-year, all-weekend event lets visitors take a self-guided tour through the art galleries and studios in central Phoenix.

In recognition of the local arts community and these public festivals, Mayor Phil Gordon has proclaimed March as “Phoenix Arts Month” and invites everyone to attend and celebrate.

PHOENIX – March 4, 2009 – Urban Affair, a marketing and promotions company for downtown Phoenix, has announced the acquisition of the Downtown Phoenix Journal The redesigned website invites residents to Explore Your Core, with a friendly insider’s view of downtown events, restaurants, cultural hot spots, and profiles of people on the City scene.

Originally launched as a blog site in 2006, the Downtown Phoenix Journal (DPJ) is one of the only websites to aggregate news and information from the greater downtown area and man on the street blog posts.

Celebrating Coronado Home Tour 2009

Historic Home Tours are always very interesting and a lot of fun. The upcoming Coronado Home Tour should be no exception. Coronado is one of the most intriguing Historic neighborhoods in the Downtown Phoenix area. In addition to some great restaurants in restored 1920’s buildings and other cool spaces, the neighborhood is home to a wide variety of 1920’s housing stock including brick bungalows, spanish style bungalows, little neighborhood store front buildings and old church buildings, converted into “loft like” spaces.
