The hottest Fall festival in Phoenix returns on Saturday, September 30th, as the 6th Annual Roosevelt Row Chile Pepper Festival is bringing the finest local restaurateurs, musicians and artists together for Phoenicians to enjoy. Tickets are on sale now for $5 at www.chilepepperfest.org, which will directly benefit the popular Roosevelt Growhouse Community Garden and the Roosevelt Row Community Development Corporation (CDC) which works to grow and support local businesses in the arts district.
In the coming weeks, Roosevelt Row will be announcing participating restaurants at this exciting event which continues to grow in size and popularity. The event will feature locally grown chile pepper roasting onsite, cooking and cocktail making demos, live music and performances, mariachis, activities for kids with the Heard Museum and Phoenix Center for the Arts, salsa dancing lessons, and special performances by Vox Urbana, Mariachi Rubor, Eclecto Fenix and Flamenco Por La Vida. Guests will also enjoy a talent show and games hosted by Matt Storrs as well as the Deschutes Brewery Beer Garden and a Margarita Station.
Local restaurant teams will compete in the Chile Pepper Challenge, a showdown for the title of the most delicious chile pepper cuisine, including a “Sweet & Spicy” category for chile pepper desserts! Announcements of the Chile Pepper Challenge winner and crowning of this year’s Chile Pepper Champion will culminate the festivities.
