Looking for a last minute summer activity to do with the kids? Participate in Find Waldo Local, a “Where’s Waldo?”-inspired month-long search in which participants can find Waldo hidden all over the city.

Changing Hands is once again hosting the event and holding parties at both its Phoenix and Tempe locations to not only provide fun for the whole family, but also an opportunity for residents to keep their shopping local by supporting small businesses.

Through the end of July, Waldo will be hidden in 25 different participating locations throughout Phoenix, including Stinkweeds, Frances, Short Leash Sit . . . Stay, AZ Pops and Phoenix General.

In order to play, visit Changing Hands and ask a bookseller for your “Find Waldo” passport. After doing so, you can visit any of the participating shops on the passport to find the famous children’s book character.

When you find Waldo at one of the places on your passport, make sure to tell an employee that you found him so you can collect your passport stamp.

Waldo will be moved daily to a new spot in each shop, so be on the lookout.

If you collect stamps from 10 or more businesses, you will receive your very own Waldo button from Changing Hands and a coupon for Waldo books. If you collect stamps from 20 or more businesses, you will get a free raffle entry to win prizes from the participating local businesses at Changing Hands’ “Where’s Waldo Party.”

Both the Phoenix and Tempe locations will host the parties on Sunday, July 30, at 2 p.m. to celebrate the end of the scavenger hunt.

Join in on the fun for raffle prizes, arts and crafts activities, and a photo with Waldo himself.

Cake will also be provided for attendees.

Don’t forget to bring your passport to the party to exchange it for those Changing Hands-related prizes if you collected 10 or more stamps, or a raffle entry to win local shops’ prizes if you collected 20 or more stamps.
