The admission-free live event, which will include complementary wine and hors d’oeuvres, will also feature a renowned speed artist creating an original work during the sale that will be included in the auction as a special lot. Doors open at 5:00PM and the auction will begin at 6:00PM. Unexpected Art Gallery will offer an art preview, January 10th & Wednesday, January 11th from 10:00AM – 4:00PM.

art1The event’s lead auctioneer, Carl Cunningham, has been in the auction business for nearly 20 years and is particularly excited for this sale. Cunningham explains, “What makes this art auction special is the history behind the pieces. Some come from the bankruptcy estate of a Debtor who was an avid collector for decades – buying art internationally and locally from the 1960s to the present. The items in this sale have already earned their pedigree, and it’s always such a joy to work on an auction of this quality.”

Some notable artists whose work will be included are James Peter Cost, Clarence McGrath, Riccardo Becciani, Leroy Neiman, and John Grossman. As Cunningham notes, “John Grossman, whose work I’m particularly excited to auction, was a California landscape painter who caught the eye in the 1970’s of then-Governor Ronald Reagan. Regan was reportedly so impressed with his work that he gifted a Grossman original to the Emperor of Japan. This sale truly offers world-class pieces.” Mediums available include oil on canvas, oil on board, and fine art prints. The art in this auction will have no minimum bid reserves and will be open to the public, giving all connoisseurs the opportunity to own one of these beautiful pieces.
