“Coors Light is proud to expand our partnership with Valley Metro to provide safe and free rides to metro Phoenix residents and visitors on New Year’s Eve,” said Gene Giron, Responsibility Initiatives Manager for MillerCoors. “Working together with Valley Metro, Uber and Crescent Crown Distributing, we will help people have a great time and get home safely.”

New this year, Uber will partner with Coors Light Free Rides® and Valley Metro to offer discounted rides to and from all Valley Metro Rail stations. New Year’s Eve travelers can get 10% off two Uber rides to or from Valley Metro Rail stations from 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve through 3 a.m. on January 1 by entering the code CLNYE.

Last year, Coors Light provided more than 27,000 people in the Phoenix region with safe, alternative transportation on New Year’s Eve. The program has gained the full support of state and local law enforcement, including the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

“For the past three years, Phoenix area residents and visitors have been able to count on free and safe transportation during one of the biggest celebrations of the year,” said Alberto Gutier, Director for the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. “Thanks to Coors Light Free Rides, people enjoy their celebrations responsibly and safely.”

“New Year’s Eve is one of our busiest nights of the year. We anticipate there will be many residents and visitors to the Valley who will want to travel by bus or rail and use Uber to complete their transit trip,” said Tempe Mayor and Valley Metro Rail Chair Mark Mitchell. “We’re excited to once again partner with Coors Light, and now Uber, to offer safe rides to and from local festivities.”

Since the program began locally in 2012, there have been nearly 113,000 safe rides taken thanks to the partnership. The Free Rides program has provided more than 5.5 million people across the U.S. with a safe ride home and has been an important part of MillerCoors’ overall commitment to helping prevent drunk driving.

“By teaming up with Coors Light and Valley Metro, Crescent Crown Distributing is proud to play a role in bringing this great service back to greater Phoenix and ensure our valued consumers ring in the New Year safely and responsibly,” said Bubba Moffett, President at Crescent Crown Distributing.

Free Rides will also be offered on New Year’s Eve in Chicago; DC; Dallas; Denver; Duluth, Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN; Milwaukee and Madison, WI. For more information, visit www.valleymetro.org/celebratesafe and www.CoorsLightFreeRides.com.
