Celebrate arts, culture and community in one of downtown Phoenix’s most creative neighborhoods at the Grand Avenue Festival this Saturday, November 12 from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.

With its unique galleries, studios, cafes, shops and more, the best of Grand Avenue will be on display during this annual celebration of the DIY spirit. Look for music, fashion, kids activities, tours, art, food and a whole lot more throughout the day.

Under the Vintage Roof Tours
This free tour takes you inside Grand Avenue’s numerous historic buildings. Guides will provide details on the history of the buildings along with how adaptive reuse and historic preservation has been implemented throughout the district.
When: Tours begin at 9, 10 and 11 a.m.
Where: Meet in front of 1229 Grand Ave.

Art Cars

Harrod Blank’s “Oh My God!”

Arizona Art Car Exhibit & Film Screening
Art Cars are vehicles that have been transformed as an act of personal artistic expression. Unexpected Gallery will host an exhibition of these fantastical cars, organized by Art Car World and curated by Harrod Blank, Director of the Art Car World Museum in Douglas, Arizona. Blank will also hold two screening of his Art Car film, “Automorphosis.”
When: Exhibit open from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Film screenings at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Where: Unexpected Gallery, 734 W. Polk St.

Untrashed Recycled Fashion Show and Trashy Hat Promenade
Local performance artist Babs A’Delic heads up this whimsical fashion show with styles created from recycled materials and other discarded items.
When: 3 p.m.
Where: Begins at PAPA stage at begins at the PAPA stage at Unexpected Gallery at 734 W. Polk St. at 3 p.m., promenading along Grand Avenue, ending at the courtyard at Thirdspace (1028 Grand) for judging and prizes.

11th Phoenix Annual Parade of the Arts (PAPA)
The 11th Phoenix Annual Parade of the Arts is a unique, family friendly pedestrian and bike procession which brings the community together to celebrate artistic expression. This year’s theme “Superheroes!” aims to bring out the super, brave and bold in all of us.
When: 6 p.m.
Where: Begins at Unexpected Gallery,734 W. Polk St., with procession on Grand Avenue.

After Hours at Unexpected Gallery: ‘Fashion by the Movies’
Arizona’s “Hip Historian” Marshall Shore and WEARizona will present “Fashion by the Movies,” comprised of styles by designers who were assigned films like The Women, Blade Runner, and Hell Raiser for their fashion theme. Visit WEARizona.org for more information.
