It’s going to get really spooky this Hallo-weekend! Time to celebrate the creepy and cool with Halloween happenings in downtown ranging from zombie balls to ghost stories to haunted bus rides and more. Here’s a sampling of some of the exciting Halloween events you’ll find this from this Friday, October 28 though Monday, October 31.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28

PoeFest at San Carlos: Throughout the past month, downtown has been celebrating the stories and poems of Edgar Allen Poe for the 8th annual PoeFest. During the Halloween weekend, enjoy Poe-related activities including readings of Poe’s famous, haunting stories, as well as a paranormal séance. On the night of Halloween, end the festival with readings of “The Raven” every 20 minutes at Rosson House Museum. Get your tickets online.

Vampire Ball at Club Palazzo: The Scorpius Dance Theatre and Davisson Entertainment presents a sexy, stylish Vampire Ball at Club Palazzo. Dress to the nines in your most entrancing vampire or goth attire and enjoy a night of spellbinding spectacles, bloody beverages, dancing and more. Dia de Los Muertos at ALAC: Celebrate the traditional Dia de Los Muertos at the Arizona Latino Arts & Cultural Center with live music, paintings, tasty food, sugar skills, tequila tastings and more! Bring the whole family for fun, authentic festivities for only $5. See info here.

Halloween Dance Party at Bikini Lounge: Throw on your costume and monster mash on over to Bikini Lounge for their Halloween Dance Party with Jazzmaster Jax and A Claire Slattery. The party is free and the beer is cheap! Find more info here.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29

Yappy Hour Halloween Costume Party at DeSoto Central Market: Get your pups in on the fun with DeSoto Central Market’s Halloween Doggie Costume Party. This will launch their weekly Yappy Hour in partnership with Peewee’s Pet Adoptions, who will bring adoptable pets, in case you want to expand your four-legged family. Get all the details here.

Ghostly Stories at AZ Humanities: Join this free family-friendly event starring ghostly storytelling, Arizona history, and Halloween. Wear your spookiest outfit and enjoy historical, ghostly stories with Marshall Shore, AZ’s Hip Historian. Visit The Arizona Humanities website for more info.

Zombie Walk 8 at Warehouse District: Zombie Walk returns for its eighth year! The southwest’s largest gathering of zombies is a staple event for Halloween in downtown and features a few changes this year including the support of the Arizona Hemophilia Association and the Phoenix Warehouse District. Join the 20,000 zombie attendees as they take on a new route and a themed pub crawl (tickets for adults only.) See the details here.

Undead Rooftop Ball at LUSTRE: Keep the spooky spirit alive after the Zombie Walk with a party at LUSTRE Rooftop Bar. Come show off your frightening attire in a costume contest, music from LA-based DJ Skyler Madison, “horrific” cocktails, and free fun. Visit LUSTRE’s website for more details.

CarnEVIL Freakshow Block Party at Cobra Arcade & Antique Sugar: Things are bound to get freaky in the best possible way at Cobra Arcade and Antique Sugar’s CarnEVIL Block Party. The event is free and includes performances from a contortionist, costume contests, giveaways, food truck and drink specials.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30

Ghost Tour at Orpheum Theatre: The Friends of the Orpheum Theatre and the Phoenix Ghost Tours continue the Halloween excitement with a one-hour ghost tour of the Orpheum Theatre. This spooktacular tour will take your breath away. See ticket information here.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 31

Halloween de Bizarre at Crescent Ballroom: Get spooky at The 6th Annual Halloween Bizarre, hosted by Crescent Ballroom and DJ Sean Watson. The indoor/outdoor party features multiple DJs and a set by local band Snakes!Snakes!Snakes! covering The Strokes. Costumes required for entry! More info here.

Haunted Halloween Bus Ride at The Teapot: On Halloween, join this family-friendly Haunted Halloween London Bus ride at The Teapot. “A Vampire Tale” at Phoenix Theatre: Enjoy a performance of the popular, original dance production of “A Vampire Tale” from the Scorpius Dance Theatre from October 27 – November 5.
