On Saturday, October 22, dress in your best white attire and gather your friends for a unique, classy picnic in the park. For the first year, Phoenix will host “Noche en Blanco,” an evening at Hance Park with picnic tables, dancing and community.
“Noche en Blanco’ was inspired by Le Dîner en Blanc in Paris, which was founded 30 years ago when thousands of people, dressed in white, spontaneously assembled for a chic picnic in a public space. Now, the Hance Park Conservancy in partnership with the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department is hosting its own take on the Parisian festivity and adding some Phoenix character. Proceeds will benefit the future Hance Park Skatepark- a new 16,000 square-feet local skate park currently being planned with the help of top-notch designers and the Tony Hawk Foundation.
With the backdrop of a beautiful Arizona sunset and dinner underneath twinkling lights, “Noche en Blanco” combines casual fun with classic elegance. The event will feature long rows of tables draped in white, a toast at 6:00 p.m., live music, skateboard demonstrations, and dancing.
Not only is the event a great opportunity to gather with friends and take fun Instagram-worthy photos, it is very affordable. At the starting price of $10, “Noche en Blanco” focuses on inclusion while creating the class of a fancy gala. You have the choice to bring your own picnic or order a delicious meal provided by The Dressing Room and Phoenix Public Market. Orders of a bottle of wine or picnic can be purchased online until October 19 and will be waiting for you when you arrive. Guests are also welcome to bring their own picnics and purchase beverages from the event bar.
Prizes will be awarded for “Best White Ensemble” and “Best White Centerpiece.”
