Congratulations are in order for downtown Phoenix’s Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour, as they are now the first-ever bar in Arizona to be nominated for a Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Award.

Considered the “Oscars” of the bartending world, the Spirited Awards are part of the New Orleans-based cocktail festival, Tales of the Cocktail. Bitter & Twisted is nominated alongside nine other nationally recognized bars in the category of Best American High Volume Cocktail Bar.
Spirited Awards chairman Simon Ford will announce four finalists in each category live on the Tales of the Cocktail Facebook page on Monday, June 20. The finalists will be invited to attend the live awards ceremony in New Orleans on July 23.
According to B&T head barman & proprietor, Ross Simon, “At Bitter & Twisted, our goal has always been to create a world-class cocktail bar and in the heart of historic downtown Phoenix, to prove that our cocktail culture can measure up to any other city in the world.” Simon expressed his gratitude for the nomination and to the judges, the Bitter & Twisted staff and the patrons who helped them reach this point.
