D-BACKS TO HOST RACE AGAINST CANCER THIS SUNDAY

dbacks-race_route_feature1WHAT: The D-backs will host their fourth annual D-backs Race Against Cancer (#DbacksRace), presented by the University of Arizona Cancer Center at Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, this Sunday at 7:15 a.m. at Chase Field. The 5k will begin and end at Chase Field and will wind through the streets of downtown Phoenix. The 1-mile Banana Boat Family Fun Walk will also begin and end at Chase Field and will follow a similar path through the streets of downtown Phoenix starting at 8:30 a.m.

All proceeds benefit the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation to support Arizona non-profits that provide screening, treatment and support for those dealing with cancer, including Derrick Hall’s Pro-State Foundation. Each participant will receive a unique D-backs finisher medal, sponsored by Safelite Autoglass, T-shirt, drawstring bag and a ticket to a D-backs home game, including Sunday’s game.

The event also features a unique Wellness Zone where participants can interact with many of Arizona’s top non-profit cancer support organizations. The zone includes screenings, interactive displays and the opportunity to ask questions of leading experts in research, treatment and support of those dealing with cancer.
