Annual Ripe Awards Return, Expand in 2015
Third Annual Phoenix Culinary Excellence Award Opens to Public Nominations, Spirit Makers and Bartenders
The Ripe Awards return this July to honor five up-and-coming chefs and one spirit maker or bartender whose innovative creations demonstrate the unique culture of the Phoenix dining scene.
For the first time in the three-year history of the award, this year’s nominations are open to the public. Phoenix residents can visit the Ripe PHX website and nominate chefs, bartenders and spirit makers they believe capture the essence of Phoenix.
This year will also be the first for a special Ripe Award recognizing one up-and-coming spirit maker or bartender whose creations embody the best of Phoenix cocktails and spirits.
The Ripe awards recognize future leaders of Phoenix culinary culture for their passion and dedication to improving the local dining scene. Finalists and winners are selected by the Phoenix Art Museum and food/dining journalists from The Arizona Republic. Past winners include James Beard Award nominees and Valley restaurant owners.
The Phoenix Art Museum and The Arizona Republic will select finalists this May and announce winners this summer.
Winners will be honored at a ceremonial tasting event on July 25 at the Phoenix Art Museum. Guests will be able to attend an award ceremony, sample winners’ creations, sip on locally made wines, and celebrate the best and brightest in the Phoenix food community. Tickets for this event can be purchased for $55.
Nominations can be submitted at www.RipePHX.com.
