Count the University of Arizona’s Health Sciences Education Building in downtown Phoenix as one of the most beautiful lab buildings in the world. At least, according to the Gizmodo.com.
The design and technology blog run by Gawker Media posted what it said was the 22 most beautiful lab buildings on the planet.
Alongside the Los Alamos National Labs in New Mexico, the headquarters of IBM research in New York, and the new research and development center for Italcementi in Bergamo, Italy, is the UA building in Gizmodo’s post.
The award-winning 265,000-square-foot education building was completed in 2012 for the expansion of the UA College of Medicine – Phoenix. The building was designed by Ayres Saint Gross and CO Architects and has earned awards from the American Institute of Architects and was featured in a PBS documentary series on unique architectural projects.
