This Friday, it is time for the Arizona Diamondbacks to play their first home game of the regular season at Chase Field. In true celebratory fashion, CityScape will throw an opening day celebration beginning at 11 a.m. The event will be filled with food, fun, prizes, music, baseball and fireworks!
If you don’t have tickets to the game, you can still enjoy all of the excitement that opening day brings each year at CityScape. And, best of all, it is free to attend. With plenty to do leading up to the game, a viewing party to catch every pitch and swing and a wonderful vantage point for the postgame fireworks, ticket holders might even forget they need to get to Chase Field. The festivities for what looks to be an awesome time can be found below:
- 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Beer garden, barbecue, retail and restaurant expo. Ticket giveaways and prizes.
- 12:30 p.m.: Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers and Blane Long and the Band perform
- 2 to 4 p.m.: Beer garden, interactive games
- 3:30 p.m.: Opening day tailgate party! Spots can be reserved by visiting SeeItOurWay.org or by contacting Barbara Smith at 602.331.7901. (This is a VIP package and is a paid event benefiting the Foundation for Blind Children.)
- 4 to 6:30 p.m.: DJ Shock, Bobby St. Vincent Band and Bad Cactus Brass Band perform
- 6:40 p.m.: Play ball! Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Cincinnati Reds at Chase Field
- Postgame: FIREWORKS!
