So, what happens when you are a little grumpy, have worked a 14-hour day, got up at 4:30 a.m., and still need to get out so you don’t go mad? Well, you end up at Lost Leaf with some friends, and nurse a delicious Belgian-style amber beer.
What I like about Lost Leaf:
- Looking at those hipsters. I wish I would have brought my camera.
- Music would go from Brazilian Bossa Nova to old school Gorillaz, to rock to trip hop.
- Some guy stopped one of the people in our party and told him, “You know man, I was watching you interact with your friends and I just know everything is going to work out for you.” Awesome. We are all glad to know. Odd? definitely. Entertaining? Oh, yes!
- If you live Downtown, you can hop on your flamed-out beach cruiser with your bell and a basket and ride on over.
- It’s dark, comfy, but still lively; so it’s a good place to hang and people watch, or really just hang out with your friends.
- The art is odd. Really odd. But, like a car crash, you just can’t look away.
- Beer/wine on tap — so it’s nice to not have a full bar. Creative beer offerings.
- COLD — I brought a sweater because, you know, I live in Arizona, so anything under 90º feels chilly to me. I was not warm. Well, until the brew hit; then I was OK.
- Hard to find — LOVE that part. Walked into the store a couple of houses down to ask directions because I was confused.
- Room for the band in the back — but not so loud. Still able to talk and enjoy the music without feeling deaf by the end of the night.
- Bartender was awesome — really nice and super friendly.
What I don’t like? We sat in the little nook by the front door; when someone was outside smoking I could smell it. But really, if that’s my only complaint, I’m good to go!
