A car wash is a car wash is a car wash. No matter how much you pay for it, there’s usually still some goopy tar or a speck of dried up bird shit stuck on your car and water spots where it didn’t get dried well. It always costs a little more than it should, and takes too much damn time out of a precious Saturday morning.
So why bother to go to Los Olivos? It’s an independent small business in a sea of Danny’s-type mega-places. They actually do a decent job, and while it’s certainly no screaming bargain, it’s reasonable. They have a buy-10-get-1-free punch card deal, which would be cool if I didn’t keep losing the cards. Now if they would only re-open their little coffee stand…
