The official opening isn’t until Tuesday, May 12. But downtown Phoenix’s newest restaurant, Local Breeze, is hoping to get off to an under-the-radar start this weekend.

He describes the Local Breeze fare as “hearty comfort food,” and judging from the menu, that description seems apt. There are salads ($8 -$14), sandwiches and burgers ($8-$10) and shareable munchies like fish tacos ($10), firecracker shrimp ($12) and lahvosh pizza topped with roasted corn, bacon and tomato ($16).
