Peppers From The Market

This Saturday, the Downtown Phoenix Public Market is celebrating its 4th Anniversary.  Come celebrate their longevity in our community and support the farmers and merchants that have worked hard to stimulate our local economy.

The Downtown Phoenix Public Market was set up by Community Food Connections, a 501(c)3  non-profit organization whose mission is to grow strong communities, healthy food, healthy families and healthy farms. Cindy Gentry, executive director of Community Food Connections is passionate about the market. “This is about local. This is about agriculture. This is about renewing and reviving agricultural tradition and our heritage.  Everything here is made or grown or harvested by the person that’s selling it.  It is an intersection for gathering. A value system about eating well and making it available to every socio-economic level.”

The Downtown Phoenix Public Market takes place at 721 N. Central Ave on the southeast corner of Central Avenue and McKinley Street. Find free parking in the lot or on the street. In addition, the new light rail line stops just two blocks away in either direction at Fillmore or Roosevelt. The market is open year-round on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and a smaller version of the market takes place on Wednesdays from 4-8 p.m. Cash, VISA, MasterCard, food stamps, and Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks are accepted.

See you there!
