Those interested in the future of the city of Phoenix met at Hanny’s last week to mingle with city planners in attempts to gauge what will happen here over the next 40-odd years.
With options abound this Third Friday, it’s time to get out for more than a casual stroll through that gallery that was too packed a few Fridays back.
Today is Third Friday which means another free concert at the Downtown Civic Space Park at Central Avenue and Van Buren Street. The show, featuring Gospel Claws and Dry River Yacht Club, begins at 7:30pm.
Skip Starbucks this Wednesday and head over to the Downtown Civic Space Park at Central Avenue and Van Buren Street for Mayor Phil Gordon’s Monthly Business Coffee Meeting. Join Mayor Gordon from 8:30 to 9:30am as he discusses the city’s 17-point plan in becoming America’s Greenest City, and be the first to tour the new building in the park.
Head over to the new Civic Space Park on Friday, April 24 at 7:30pm for a free movie night featuring The Dark Night.
The event is sponsored by Arizona State University students and is part of a larger safety initiative to encourage positive use of the brand-new park. Arrive early and you won’t need to bring your own snacks because free popcorn will be available on a limited basis. The movie will end around 10:30pm.
