Courtney Marie Andrews’ Painter’s Hands
Phoenix-born-and-bred singer/songstress Courtney Marie Andrews is throwing a mega-folk party at Modified Arts on Friday, July 31 to celebrate the release of her second full-length record, Painter’s Hands and a Seventh Son. Andrews has been crooning up arts venues around Phoenix for several years now and is a founding member of budding Phoenix label River Jones Music.
Another ‘Movie Mondays’ Event This Week
Monday is approaching and that means another ‘Movie Mondays’ event at the Heard Museum.
On Monday, July 27 and 1:30pm, the museum will show Turquoise Rose, 94-minute coming-of-age story. The film follows a Navajo college student named Turquoise Rose as she begrudgingly forgoes a trip to Europe with her friends to return to the Navajo Reservation and take care of her ailing grandmother.
Third Friday Concert Series at Civic Space
Today is Third Friday which means another free concert at the Downtown Civic Space Park at Central Avenue and Van Buren Street. The show, featuring Gospel Claws and Dry River Yacht Club, begins at 7:30pm.
Heard Museum Hosts Another ‘Movie Mondays’ Event
Head over to the Heard Museum at 2301 N. Central Aev. this Monday for another ‘Movie Mondays’ event on July 20 at 1:30pm. This week, the museum will be featuring The Return of Navajo Boy.
The film chronicles an extraordinary chain of events, beginning with the appearance of a 1950s film reel, which leads to the return of a long lost brother to his Navajo family.
Antiques Roadshow Is Coming To Phoenix
