From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Phoenix locals and valley-wide residents are invited to the 8th Annual Phoenix Festival at Steele Indian School Park. This anticipated Earth Day celebration provides ways to be kind to the earth at a zero-waste event while supporting environmental protection and green living, featuring earth-friendly vendors, music, food and activities for all ages.
“Earth Day is our biggest event of the year and a time when people can come together to celebrate the difference they can make,” says Tom Waldeck, Executive Director of Keep Phoenix Beautiful. “Earth Day isn’t just one day, but every day of the year. This Saturday, Earth Day can provide residents ways to think about the importance of our earth and learn how to make it beautiful – together.”
Nearly 50 exhibitors and vendors including The Arizona Humane Society, Dig It Urban Gardens and Nursery, Native Connection, APS, Republic Services and Local First Arizona will provide attendees information on sustainability and green living, with exciting giveaways all day long! Only 100 barrels will be available. Plus, kids can enjoy green-focused garden activities to learn the importance of taking care of planet earth!
To stay in the spirit of sustainability, attendees are encouraged to take alternative modes of transportation to the festival. The 8th Annual Earth Day Festival will be located at Steele Indian School Park, just off the light rail and near a Grid Bike station at Indian School and Central Avenue. This event will also be a zero-waste event, with all recyclable and compostable products from participating food truck vendors.
