A little birdy told DPJ a rumor that the historic Gold Spot building on 3rd Avenue and Roosevelt Street is about to secure two new tenants: Downtown Phoenix’s first Pita Jungle, and the second outpost of Lola Coffee.

It’s interesting that there are so many places to eat opening up in the Central city and many of them of high quality and more importantly of local birth. Despite the higher unemployment and weak economy we’re not skimping on spending on restaurants.
Great to hear!
WOW – Pita Jungle in walking distance from my house. This is wonderful news!
I heard this a while ago, then there was a microbrewery going into Gold Spot and Pita Jungle was going in at 7th Avenue and McDowell along with Ace Hardware (announced at the quarterly phoenix community development and investment corporation meeting in June), so who knows what’s true until we see some “coming soon” signs in the windows?
These will be great additions to downtown, wherever they go…. now we just need more housing – a few large apartment buildings would be great, otherwise the density isn’t going to support it…
