It is almost Monday and that means another Movie Mondays event at the Heard Museum.
On Monday, June 22 at 1:30pm, the museum will be showing Oil on Ice, a 90-minute vivid, compelling and comprehensive documentary connecting the fate of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to decisions America makes about energy policy, transportation choices, and other seemingly unrelated matters. Caught in the balance are the culture and livelihood of the Gwich’in people and the migratory wildlife in this fragile ecosystem.
Screenings are free with regular museum admission which is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors ages 65 and older, $5 for students with a valid student ID, and $3 for children ages 6 to 12. Heard Museum members, children under age 6 and American Indians receive free admission.
The Heard Museum, located at 2301 N. Central Ave., is open from 9:30 am to 5pm Monday through Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
