The Phoenix Art Museum and Heard Museum have joined for the second year to celebrate International Museum Day with an offer that gives visitors two museums for the price of one.
On Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, visitors can purchase admission at either museum and take their same-day receipt to the other museum for free admission.
Celebrated around the globe since 1977, International Museum Day is held each year as an opportunity for museum professionals to meet the public and explore the museum’s role as an institution in the service of society and of its development.
The celebration brings together downtown Phoenix’s most prestigious arts organizations. Both museums offer exhibitions, cafes and shopping. The Heard Museum features two exhibition galleries with interactive hands-on activities that are ideal for families, while the Phoenix Art Museum features the PhxArtKids Gallery, KidPacks for children ages 6-10 and audioguides for families.
The Phoenix Art Museum is open from 10am to 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday. The Heard Museum is open from 9:30am to 5pm on Saturday and from 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
The Phoenix Art Museum is located at 1625 N. McDowell Road and The Heard Museum is located at 2301 N. Central Ave.
