Uptown

Includes Medlock Place Historic District, Pierson Place Historic District, Windsor Square Historic District.

Loosely defined as north of Indian School Road (or the canal, depending on your point of view) and south of Missouri Avenue, Uptown Phoenix is home to some main arteries of the central core of Phoenix. This we know: Uptown Phoenix centers at the light rail-fueled resurgence around Central Avenue and Camelback Road, where eateries, shopping, office space and residential areas are once again at a premium.

Uptown Phoenix has become an important district, anchoring the north end of the city hub. Uptown is home to a few of Phoenix’s desirable historic districts, including Medlock Place (7th to Central avenues, Camelback Road to Missouri Avenue), Windsor Square (Central Avenue to 7th Street, Camelback Road to Missouri Avenue) and Pierson Place (5th to 1st avenues, Grand Canal to Camelback Road), each offering the tranquil neighborhood feel within a few blocks from major thoroughfares.
