Press Coffee Roasters is ready to serve its award-winning specialty coffee to Downtown Phoenix with a flagship café that showcases specialty coffee as part of Arizona’s emerging food and beverage scene. It will open the doors to its newest location at Central and McDowell on Thursday, June 8 and will be serving free small drip coffee to guests for three days to celebrate.
Press Coffee at The Muse (1616 N. Central Ave.) is the local roaster’s fifth location. In addition to coffee beverages that include espresso drinks, pour overs and cold brew, the 2,000-square-foot downtown café will launch an expanded menu including beer and wine in late summer. It also features a learning space where Press plans to offer its popular Coffee 101 tastings and other events.
“I started Press back in 2008 with the idea of a place for coffee, food and wine. This store resurrects that dream at an even higher level,” said Steve Kraus, owner and founder of Press Coffee. “We’re excited to open our doors and be a part of Downtown Phoenix’ diverse coffee and food community.”
Positioned along the west side of Central Avenue, Press at The Muse looks out on the light rail line and Phoenix Art Museum. But for lovers of coffee and design, the beauty is inside. A custom Synesso espresso machine, pristine white Mahlkonig grinders, and futuristic Clever Seraphim brewers stand at the ready for Press’ trained barista staff to prepare and serve its award-winning specialty coffees. Designer Larry Lake of Lawrence Lake Interiors playfully used the red and white color scheme of the apartment development to create a modern, comfortable café setting.
Press will be offering guests a free small cup of drip coffee on June 8, 9 and 10 to celebrate its opening. Press Coffee at The Muse will be open Monday – Saturday 6:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sundays 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
