7th Street/Coronado
Includes Coronado Historic District and Country Club Park Historic District

Located on Midtown’s easternmost edge, the historic Coronado neighborhood was one of Phoenix’s original streetcar subdivisions, built around an active line that used to run down 10th Street, connecting the area with the Downtown business district. A large area ripe with revitalization and renewal today, the entire neighborhood has evolved visibly in recent years, becoming one of the most sought-after residential addresses in Central Phoenix. Though not as manicured as the neighboring Alvarado, Willo or Encanto-Palmcroft neighborhoods, the more eclectic, artsy Coronado contains an equally established patchwork of historic residences largely constructed between the 1920s and 1940s.

Technically bounded by McDowell Road to the south, Thomas Road to the north, and sandwiched between 7th and 16th Streets, one of the most active sectors of commercial activity within the Coronado neighborhood exists along 7th Street, particularly centered around the secondary intersection of 7th and Sheridan Streets. Referred to as Sheridan Square, this immediate area is home to a diverse collection of businesses, ranging from restaurants both casual and high-end, to wine bars, coffee shops and beauty salons, each of which draw patrons citywide to the area.
