The streets of downtown Phoenix will be taken over this weekend by Super Men and Women, Warrior Princesses, Jedis and many, many other comic book, sci-fi and fantasy characters as Phoenix Comicon 2017 converges on the city. The highly anticipated pop culture convention starts Thursday, May 25 and runs through Sunday, May 28. [Organizers have updated convention policies effective May 26. Read them here.]

At Phoenix Comicon, you’re invited to “Explore Your Inner Geek” along with over 100,000 of your fellow fans and cosplayers. According the event website, Phoenix Comicon originally showcased comic books, science fiction/fantasy and film/television, and related popular arts, but “has expanded over the years to include a larger range of pop culture elements, such as horror, anime, manga, animation, toys, collectible card games, video games, webcomics, and fantasy novels.”

The four days of the con will feature celebrity meet & greets with actors, writers, creators and more; panel discussions and workshops on a wide variety of topics; film screenings and performances; an exhibitor hall full of must-have merch – and a whole lot more.

The majority of events will happen at the Phoenix Convention Center, with a few being held at the Hyatt Regency. The party will also spill over to other locations in the downtown core, including CityScape who will host their “Quest Fest” challenge Thursday-Saturday from 4-6 p.m., water activities on Central Ave. at their “H20asis” on Friday from 4-10 p.m., and a cooling station at Patriots Park for all four days of the convention.
