Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour Serves Up The Secrets to its Success in Behind the Scenes Video.

Led by the Scottish-born, London-trained Ross Simon, and housed in a historic 1920s high-rise, Bitter & Twisted is putting Phoenix on the cocktail map.

Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour (B&T), the nationally recognized and award-winning cocktail bar and restaurant in the heart of historic Downtown Phoenix, just rolled out a behind-the-scene video showcasing the secrets to its success, which includes rave reviews ranging from Thrillist and Eater, to Details, ABCNews.com andUSA Today.

So what’s the secret? Lots and lots of prep-work, including making everything and anything in-house. For example, B&T offers five types of house-made ice, from hand-carved ice balls and punchbowl-ready “super cubes,” to shaved ice and crushed nuggets.

But that’s just the tip of the ice pick when it comes to B&T’s custom ingredient program, which includes 16 different house-infused spirits made with fresh ingredients such as grilled pineapple or pure vanilla bean, as well as 14 varieties of house-made syrups, sugars and foams.

According to B&T’s Principal Barmen & Proprietor, Ross Simon, “We’re not just doing this to look cool. It’s all about crafting better tasting drinks, so anything that we can prepare fresh in-house without the use of industrial preservatives, we will.” More important, he says, “This video was our chance to show the care we put into each cocktail. They say a picture’s worth a thousand words, so we thought this would be the perfect way to bring our fans behind the scenes.”

At Bitter & Twisted, all these handcrafted ingredients are used to create the hundreds of drinks offered in the 24-page Book o’ Cocktails. Brimming with custom cocktail creations and inventive twists on old favorites, this colorfully illustrated tome is also overflowing with all-new creations such as the Czech Please (Becherovka liqueur, muddled lime and cane syrup) or On Like Donkey Kong (VSOP Cognac shaken over ice with crème de banana, a touch of cane syrup and freshly squeezed lemon juice and a rim of banana sugar).

Furthermore, forget shaken or stirred because B&T also offers the world’s first Flawless Martini, starting with hand-bottled blend of a house specific ratio of spirit, vermouth and nano filtered water that’s been chilled to less than 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-12.2 degrees Celsius). Sure, some serve their Martinis even colder thanks to high-tech gimmicks such as liquid nitrogen, however, unless you like to slam your martini (not recommended), as soon as these cocktails start to warm, you are left with a bottle strength spirit. However, with B&T’s precisely pre-diluted “Flawless Martini” program, your cocktail stays consistently balanced and sip-able, no matter how long you let it linger.
