Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 N. Central Ave., presents a family literacy event, “Storyfest: The Science of Fairy Tales,” 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2014.

The free event celebrates reading and includes “Good Vibes” with the Arizona Science Center, a storytime, a Story Science Lab and rocket rides.  BookBreath the dragon, BookMan and Curious George will meet and greet children and their families.  Parents are welcome to bring cameras to take fun photos.  Bookmans is also hosting a photo booth.

Families may enter a drawing to win one of several prizes: a Kindle Fire, a family membership to the Arizona Science Center and to the Children’s Museum of Phoenix.

Library staff, early literacy specialists and other community organizations will also be available to talk with parents about raising successful readers.
