This Sunday, Planet Orange will look a little bit different when the Phoenix Suns host to the Sacramento Kings. For the second year in a row, the characters and creations from the mind of George Lucas invade the Purple Palace for “Star Wars: The Clone Wars Night.”

Being someone that has never really gotten into the phenomenon that is Star Wars (admittedly, I’ve only seen episodes I & IV), I still must say this is an event definitely worth checking out. The Suns go all out as they team up with Lucas Arts to entertain the inner geek in us all.

In addition to seeing one of the greatest point guards to ever play continue to lead the Suns in their push for the playoffs, fans will be subject to in-game Star Wars-related entertainment.

Throughout US Airways Center, fans in attendance will have the opportunity to snag a picture with their favorite Star Wars characters. Unless you’re 12 years of age or under, please leave the masks at home, though. If you’re over 12 and want to wear a mask, you’re going to need to plan a trip to Oakland to take in a Raiders game.

Suns dancers will also be participating as they dress in Princess Leia costumes — every nerd’s fantasy come true. This is sure to be the highlight of the night, but I think Jabba the Hutt should be in attendance to really make it shine. Perhaps former Suns center Oliver Miller will be free this Sunday?

If you’re attending the game you’re encouraged to dress up as your favorite Star Wars character. Those that dress up will have the chance to win a R2-D2 Droid phone from Verizon. If you don’t want to win the phone but still prefer to dress up, I suggest going as Captain James T. Kirk. (snicker, snicker)

Video game fans, have no fear, you will not be left out! You’ll have the chance to try out the new Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars game in the Gorilla’s Greenhouse. If you haven’t played another of the Lego Star Wars games, I highly recommend checking this out. These games are awesome and hilarious.

If You Go: Star Wars: The Clone Wars Night.
