Two back-to-back shows are coming to The Rhythm Room next week that you shouldn’t miss.

On Tuesday, Best Coast and Sonny & the Sunsets stop in from California, and the next day Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s brings its mix of indie-folk to the Midtown venue.

If you love beach-pop music, then Tuesday is your day. Best Coast, a three-piece indie pop band from Los Angeles made up of Bethany Cosentino (singer, songwriter), Bobb Bruno (multi-instrumentalist) and Ali Koehler (drummer), fits the perfect “let’s grab a towel and go to the beach” image.

Their first track and single off of Crazy for You, “Boyfriend,” proves a fun intro to the 13-track CD that will have you humming to yourself, “I wish he was my boyfriend.” (We won’t judge you.)

Sonny Smith, Kelley Stoltz, Tahlia Harbour and Ryan Browne make up the calm, busted-up beach sound of Sonny & the Sunsets — a perfect pairing with Best Coast. Surprise, surprise, they are also from California. Download “Too Young to Burn” for a listen.

For the more mild listeners, if your iPod is filled with Sigur Ros and Arcade Fire, perhaps, Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s is your choice. The eight-piece Indiana band has released five records since 2006 and has toured nonstop the whole time. Like fine wine, they’ve only gotten better with age.

Richard Edwards and Andy Fry decided to recruit a cellist, pianist, trumpet player, two drummers and electric bass and create a band with one of the longest names in the game right now. Buzzard, their latest album, has been doing just that — buzzing with good reviews and thumbs up.

So, you could sit at home and watch episodes of boring prime time TV, or you could go to a rockin’ show or two. Just saying, your choice.

Both shows are $15 at the door and start at 7:30 p.m. at the Rhythm Room, 1019 E. Indian School Rd. in Midtown.
